Terms of Service

Version 2.0 ยท Last updated 7 October 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, or by ticking the box to accept updated Terms, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Accepting electronically has the same effect as signing. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

  • Shippers: you must be at least 18 years old and give accurate name, phone and email details. You can register from anywhere.
  • Truckers: you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid Ghana Card, a valid DVLA licence, a roadworthiness certificate and commercial insurance.
  • If you register for a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and the business is bound by them.

3. Role of HaulEx

HaulEx, operated by Rithum Systems Ghana Ltd, is a marketplace that connects shippers and truckers. HaulEx does not own or operate vehicles. When you book a load, HaulEx provides that haulage service to you for the price shown. HaulEx performs the service through independent, verified truckers it engages as subcontractors.

4. Pricing and payment (shippers)

  • Loads are priced by the HaulEx rate card or by a bid you accept.
  • The price shown is the full price of the haulage service. HaulEx bills you for that price, with VAT, NHIL and GETFund shown separately.
  • Your payment is held by our licensed payment partner and released only after you confirm delivery, or after the 24-hour verification window ends with no dispute and HaulEx has reviewed the job.

5. Your cargo (shippers)

  • You must describe the cargo, its weight and its value accurately, pack it safely, and make sure it is ready and accessible for loading and unloading at the times booked.
  • You must not book: dangerous or hazardous goods, weapons or ammunition, illegal drugs or any unlawful goods, cash, jewellery or other valuables, or live animals unless HaulEx has agreed in writing.
  • A trucker or HaulEx may refuse or stop a load that does not match its description, is unsafe, or breaks these rules. Any cost this causes is yours.

6. Payouts (truckers)

  • You carry loads as an independent subcontractor of HaulEx, not as an employee or agent. You are responsible for your vehicle, crew, fuel, tolls and compliance with road and transport law.
  • For each job, HaulEx pays you the subcontract price: the job price less 14.34% (13% on backloads). It is paid to your registered mobile money wallet after the job is released. The subcontract price includes any VAT you are required to charge.

7. Cancellations

Shippers can cancel an unpaid booking at no cost. Once you have paid, these fees apply, as a percentage of the amount held for the job. The fee is kept and the balance is refunded to you:

  • Free: you cancel at least 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time and before the trucker sets off for pickup.
  • 20%: you cancel less than 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, before the trucker sets off.
  • 100%: you cancel after the trucker has set off for pickup.
  • Trucker no-show: if the trucker has not arrived 30 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, you are refunded in full.
  • Shipper no-show: if your cargo is not ready 60 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, no refund is due.
  • If either party disputes a cancellation, HaulEx decides the amounts on the evidence.

Truckers: two or more cancellations within a 30-day window result in a 72-hour lockout.

8. Disputes about a job

Raise any problem with a delivery in the app within the 24-hour verification window. The payment stays held while HaulEx reviews the evidence from both sides, including photos, the waybill and tracking, and decides how it is released or refunded. This does not affect your right to go to court.

9. Loss, damage and claims

  • Truckers are responsible for the load from pickup to delivery.
  • HaulEx's liability for loss of or damage to cargo is limited to the price paid for that job, except where caused by HaulEx's own negligence.
  • Note any visible damage on the waybill at delivery and report it within 24 hours. Report any other loss within 7 days. Include photos and the waybill.
  • Shippers are responsible for insuring their cargo.
  • If HaulEx compensates a shipper for loss, damage or failed delivery caused by a trucker, HaulEx may recover that amount from the trucker, including by deducting it from payouts due.

10. Conduct and non-circumvention

You must not submit false documents, impersonate another person, or use HaulEx for unlawful cargo. For 12 months after their last job together, shippers and truckers introduced through HaulEx must not arrange haulage with each other outside HaulEx.

11. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for verification failures, repeated cancellations, disputes, fraud, or breaches of these Terms. Anonymisation on account deletion is handled per the Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HaulEx is not liable for delay, loss of profit, indirect loss, force majeure, or acts of Government, and HaulEx's total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the price paid for that job. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law where you live.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Accra, except where mandatory law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will require you to re-consent before continuing to use the Platform.

15. General

  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and HaulEx about the Platform.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • We send notices to the email or phone number on your account. You can contact us at support@rithumsystems.com.
